Under the patronage of Central Bank of Bahrain, in partnership with Global Shapers Manama, and the BENEFIT company, Bahrain FinTech Bay hosts the annual BENEFIT FinTech Award Hackathon. BENEFIT FinTech Award hackathon is a themed event which focuses on building a working prototype which could form the basis of a credible business. The hackathon brings together people with different skill-sets - primarily software developers, graphic designers and business people - to build solutions and develop a commercial case around them.
This year’s hackathon focuses on Open Banking, bridging the gap between fintech enthusiasts and corporates, providing the Bahrain financial services ecosystem with cutting-edge insights to modern day innovations.

At his journey at Infosys he has worked in responsible position to transform the Banking Product (Finacle) as well as the Service delivery model for its clients. He was part of Infosys Leadership Institute as potential leader for structured succession plan of the Top management. He founded Banking Software Services & Product Company and scaled it upto more then 200 people.
At Almoayed Technologies & Tarabut Gateway PK is responsible for driving the Fintech Unit to achieve the Company’s goal and vision towards Digital transformation of Bahrain and MENA region.

Marketing & Client Support Manager
Dania Al Showaikh is a business and communications strategist with strong consultancy experience across different sectors. As part of her role as a Marketing and Client Support at Tarabut Gateway, she is currently focused on marketing strategy, campaign execution and forging between fintechs, financial institutions and regulators.
Prior to joining Tarabut Gateway, Ms.Al Showaikh held multiple marketing and product development positions within various sectors like automobile, wealth management, technology and F&B. During her tenure as a consultant within the MadTech (Marketing, advertising and Technology) industry in London, she helped companies navigate disruption and the convergence of industries.
Dania is a certified inbound marketing and digital transformation expert holding credentials from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), a Msc of Strategic Marketing with Honors from Imperial College London and a BA in Media Studies and Business from the University of Newcastle.
Tarun Parihar has over 10 Years of experience in banking and financial services product industry. At Tarabut Gateway, he is currently managing the delivery of all the Open Banking projects by leading the entire delivery team.
Tarun holds Bachelor degree of Technology in Computer Science and Technology from DR. M.G.R. Institute of Technology.
FinTech - Delivery Manager
Ashok Sundaramurthy is a Senior Solutions Architect in Tarabut Gateway that is specialized in micro services, cloud deployment and product development. With 11 years of experience in software development, Ashok has led the technical build of the first Open Banking platform in the MENA region.
At his time in Tarabut Gateway, Ashok has worked very closely with financial institutions to implement Open Banking compliance and aggregation services. He is also currently focusing on creating a platform that allows other Fintechs to easily integrate to the infrastructure that connects all retail banks in Bahrain.
Ashok holds a Bachelor degree of Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Kumaraguru College of Technology.

Ali has over 6 years of experience in the entrepreneurship ecosystem, working for startups, incubators, a development bank and a consulting firm. Prior to joining MEVP, Ali worked at Bahrain Development Bank (BDB) in the Business Development Unit and the Development Services Division.
At BDB, Ali was also part of the Rowad team, which runs a holistic program designed to support startups and SMEs in the country through various services including coaching, mentoring, funding and incubation. Prior to that, Ali was an Analyst for Dun & Bradstreet, Bahrain Office.
Ali has bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Entrepreneurship from Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada. During his time at university, Ali worked for 2 startups in addition to working for the university’s own business incubator, the Ryerson Digital Media Zone (DMZ).

Shaheen works at Osool Asset Management as an Investment Manager in the Public Investments team, covering a multi-asset class portfolio, which includes global equities, fixed income, money markets, and hedge funds. Prior to his current role, he was at Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) Reserve Management Directorate, where he was responsible in developing and implementing the CBB’s investment guidelines by ensuring liquidity, preserving capital, and maximizing returns relative to risk.
He also worked at Ernst & Young (EY) as an Associate providing financial services to investment banking clients. Shaheen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Florida International University (FIU) with a focus in Macroeconomics, Global Private Banking, and Investment Management. He is a Series 7 (Securities Registered Representative) and a Series 79 (Investment Banking Representative) holder.
Shaheen is part of the Global Shapers Community (Manama Hub), an initiative by the World Economic Forum (WEF) that aims to positively contribute to the social and economic development in Bahrain and Globally. He is also passionate about scaling up sustainable finance in the region by working with global players in the industry. Shaheen is also a certified business mentor.

She is also a serial social tech entrepreneur that has dedicated her life to empowering socially good projects/businesses initiatives with technology. Lana Al Attar
Shafaq is the head of Payments Services department at BENEFIT Company with more than 16 years of experience in Banking. She possess experience in project management, product development, marketing, strategic planning and implementation. Moreover, Shafaq worked on multiple national projects with different stakeholders such as Bahrain Cheque Truncation System, Electronic Fund Transfer System, Wages Protection System, and E-Cheque.
Shafaq holds a MBA from Strathclyde University at Scotland and B.S. degree in Marketing and MIS from American University of Sharjah.

Fatima Alattar is the Head of Design at Gudjuju Web Developments. She has over 15 years’ experience in Design, including User Experience and Prototyping.
She was the Designer on the winning team of Startup weekend 2014, and also specializes in Sustainability and Social Investment Advisory services and reporting. Fatima is also a Toastmaster and is excellent at public speeches and occasionally publishes short stories, when she isn’t creating beautiful and engaging content she is assisting as a co-organizer at GDG Manama.

Khalifa A. AlMannai is the founder and managing director of MannaiTech: a technology company established in 2014 that offers IT solutions, consultancy and award winning platform services which have been designed, developed and deployed from the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Khalifa is also the recipient of Bahrain’s Award for Entrepreneurship in 2016, by His Royal Highness the Crown Price of Bahrain, for his innovative start-up of the year. In addition to this, despite running a newly developed establishment for only a single year, he was placed 5th among 3700 business in the MENA region for the Intel business challenge. Furthermore, Khalifa is the Treasurer and a Board Member of the ASEAN Bahrain Council (ABC) and a Member of the Technology Committee at the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI).
