Build for Bahrain aims to drive innovation to help shape and future-proof Bahrain’s vision in becoming a digital economy. The program invites innovators and entrepreneurs to develop and promote locally designed solutions to tackle locally identified challenges by utilizing innovation as a catalyst.

The accelerator program encourages sustainable, technological solutions in the following categories

Business Continuity

Implementation of innovative digital solutions to identify and support areas in the business community most impacted

Community

Addressing the negative effects of social isolation and the digitizing of public services, and local entertainment industry

Health

Including preventative measures and supporting frontline health workers

Prizes

Three winning teams will:

1. Receive funding to further develop their solutions

2. Receive Incubation at Bahrain FinTech Bay (BFB).

3. Secure seats in one of the FinTech Consortium Institute's programs, a center of excellence in FinTech education, led by notable US-based institutions.

Can I pitch my existing startup?


Yes you can!




Can I still join even if I don't have a team?


Of course! In the absence of a group, all you need to do is submit the form, and we will connect you with other team members to form a group.




What resources do I need to participate in the virtual challenge?


  • A laptop with functional video (webcam), and audio (mic) settings
  • High-speed internet
  • A notebook/pen (optional) if you would like to write down your ideas, meeting minutes, etc.




What should the theme of my idea be for the virtual challenge/program?


Your ideas should be aimed at supporting sustainable technology solutions in the following key areas:

  • Community




Will there be any mentors?


Yes! Our goal is to connect you with mentors and industry experts of various fields who will help guide you through sharing knowledge and best practices.

What is the judging criteria?


Our judging criteria covers 3 categories i.e. validation, execution and design, and business model. Business Model:

  • How do you plan on making this a successful business?
  • Are you solving a problem? (value proposition)
  • Is your idea unique?
Validation:
  • Did your team get out and talk to customers?
  • Are you actually solving a problem?
  • Have you identified a specific target market?
Team:
  • Have the team shown their knowledge on the industry?
  • Were they able to use their knowledge and expertise to execute their idea and startup?
